How Freja Unified Rate Management and Saved 10–15 Minutes on Every Quote

Freja Transport & Logistics is a freightforwarding group with operations across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland,Poland and China. Freja was founded in Skive, Denmark in 1985 and is today part of the Danish, family-owned United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC) Freja employs approximately 1,200 people and has a strong foundation in road freight, with a growing strategic focus on Air and Sea Freight.
Freja operates with a hybrid procurement model:
● Around two-thirds of contracts are negotiated at a group level
● The remaining one-third is handled locally for specific accounts and needs
● Multiple offices needed access to the same contracts and rates, without constant back-and-forth
What was missing was visibility and alignment across locations.
Freja’s leadership: Lasse Andersen( Group Head of Ocean procurement) and David Nielsen (Group Head of Air &Ocean Business Development) made an early, deliberate decision:
manual rate management is not a way to grow.
“If you want to speed up things and be more efficient, there is no way but to have such a tool.”
Freja Leadership evaluated multiple vendors before choosing Freightify. Two factors stood out on their decision to choose Freightify:
1. Ease of use, relative to the depth of information
2. Ability to support group-level rate management while remaining accessible to regional teams
“Freightify is extremely easy to use compared to the information you get out of it.”

Freja rolled out Freightify across core Air & Sea freight teams:
● 30–40 active users across Denmark, Sweden, Norway,Finland Poland and China.
● Approximately 5 users per office, plus group-level stakeholders
● Ongoing internal push led by procurement and business development leadership
“Push for adoption has to come from the inside and not from the outside.”
Adoption was treated as a leadership responsibility, not a vendor-driven exercise.
By centralising rate access:
● Freja saves 10–15minutes per quote
● Across ~10quotes per day per person, this becomes a substantial time saving across offices
“If we have 10 a day, that sums up to something substantial for all the offices.”
Beyond time savings, Freightify delivered visibility teams didn’t realize they lacked.
“It’s a good eye-opener… colleagues realize they actually have better options than they thought, so we don’t miss opportunities.”
Rates became not just accessible, butunderstood.
Freja also uses Freightify to understand quoting activity across regions:
“We can get the data from the system, see how much we are quoting and where we see the most activity.”
This data now supports decisionsabout focus areas, regions, and future procurement opportunities.
Freja’s journey highlights what matters for forwarders scaling Air & Sea freight:
● You can’t scale with spreadsheets
● Rate management must be centralized, but usable
● Adoption succeeds when leadership owns it
● Time saved on quoting compounds fast
